The young musicians forming this unusual duo combination of guitar and accordion devote themselves almost exclusively to New Music. The Lux Nova Duo was founded in 2012 at the Music Conservatory in Barcelona, where Lydia Schmidl and Jorge Paz Verástegui were studying. They received important stimuli from their teachers Professor Alex Garobé (guitar) and Professor Iñaki Alberdi (accordion). As part of their Masters degrees the Lux Nova Duo continued to study chamber music performance with Professor Olaf van Gonnissen (Hamburg) and Professor Margit Kern (Bremen).
